Reversing lamp is designed to illuminate the road to the rear of the vehicle and to warn other road users that the vehicle is reversing or is about to reverse. These lamps are governed by some performance qualities. The intensity of light emitted has a minimum of 80 candelas along the axis of reference and cannot exceed 300 candelas at or above the horizontal plane, or 600 candelas below the horizontal plane, and the colour of the light must be white. Additional lights to be used for temporary purposes such as handling loads or providing additional illumination in off-road situations may be fitted to a vehicle in any location. However, a driver must not use or allow to use any lamp that can or is likely to dazzle another road user. Work lamps are intended to provide maximum light output in both wide flood beams and long range spreader beams for illuminating work areas. In most cases, the light from these types of lamps exceed the maximum light output and are generally not ADR or ECE approved for use as reversing lamps.
